Our Gardens
The UMass Permaculture gardens are about so much more than food production. Because they were envisioned and created by students, the gardens are living examples of the power that the next generation holds in shaping the world around them.
Through designing and maintaining these landscapes, students have a tangible positive impact on their surroundings. They are improving the health of the land, increasing biodiversity, providing local organic food for their fellow students, and learning about along the way. We inspire students to think differently about how food is grown, who can grow food, how land can be used, and most importantly, the role they can play in creating the future they want.
